The Belize Educational Fund & Day in the Park Committee is a non-for-profit fundraising entity offering scholarships for underprivileged youth, mostly in the Chicago area for education in the United States and Belize. We have been serving Illinois and Belize for over 35 years.
Who We Are
The Belize Educational Fund and Day in the Park Committee is a nonprofit (501C-3) organization with ten members, originated from the Belize Social Club. In 1980, the Belize Social Club started the Day in the Park as a small picnic which has now evolved into the present-day festival and has over three thousand people.
Promoting Belizean Community
Belize is a small country with a great culture. During our Belize Day in the Park celebrations, our focus is in preserving our Belizean culture while also embracing the culture of this country. Chicago has largest Belizean festival in the United States, bringing the culture, the music, and the food to the lakefront, inspiring coalition and support.
